The Brasilia Barista Challenge is aimed at rewarding and recognising shop Baristas. It has been designed to be light hearted, fun and relaxed and is open to anyone in England, Scotland and Wales. Using the Opus Sublima, entrants for the regional heats will just have to turn up at the venue as everything they need will be provided. Entrants will be judged on basic technical, presentation skills and speed of service, just as if they were at work.
The winner will be awarded with a trip to Brasilia’s factory in Retorbido, Italy and a training session at their 9 Bar Barista Academy.
The Brasilia Barista Challenge will be a valuable introduction to the UK Barista Championship and so UKBC representatives will be in attendance to encourage and hopefully sign up any finalists that would like to enter their 2010 event.
